Good wine=natural cork!? Does that sound familiar? Once, wines with screw-cap closures were dismissed as low quality. Reality: Many excellent wines (especially from New World countries like Australia and New Zealand) use screw caps to preserve freshness and avoid cork taint. Screw caps form a tight seal that prevents spoilage and keeps flavors pure. In fact, some delicate whites and vibrant aromatic wines age better under screw cap because no cork means no random oxidation. Winemakers choose closures based on the wine’s style – it’s not a sign of inferiority. So don’t be afraid of the twist-off! Judge the wine by what’s in your glass, not by its cap. (Bonus: screw caps are convenient for picnics and save you from corkscrew emergencies.) A cluster of wine grapes on the vine – there are around 10,000 grape varieties in the world, but only a fraction make it into our bottles . Cheers and enjoy good wines!
