I decided to write a separate line about the best books of the year that we read outside this club.
From my side: The fireworks of a book was Jerusalem by Alan Moore. It is simply awesome how Moore managed to get so many characters, plot lines, historical things, symbols etc in a book that, in the end of the day, is the most entertaining, funny and touching work (1300+ pages long))
Other books that impressed me include The children's book and Possession by A. S. Byatt, Gentlemen and players by Joan Harris, Mrs Dalloway by Ms Woolf, The noise of time by Barnes and Grace by Paul Lynch.
The feast for fans was The Hallmarked man by Galbraith. И на русском, чтобы не переводить неанглийские названия - Кабре - Я исповедуюсь, Демишкевич - Под рекой, Шанта - Пятая печать, Ибсен - Кукольный дом, Дежуров - Маятник культуры. It was a great year for books, and all in all I read 112 of them (+1 vs. last year)) Please share your best books and I will borrow some for my wishlist.
