❤️ UrFU Rector Participated in the Live Call-in Show 📹 On March 25, the rector of UrFU Ilya Obabkov took part in a live call-in show organised by "OTV" (ОТВ) TV channel in the atrium of a recently inaugurated Specialized Educational and Research Center (SERC) of the Novokoltsovsky campus. He answered dozens of students' questions during a 2-hour session that covered the following topics: 1️⃣International Festival of Youth. All information on the relocation period for students living in the Novokoltsovsky campus (from July 1 to October 1) will be updated on UrFU website. "The festival is a great way to restore offline communication. At the same time, participation in it is a technology for developing oneself through new practices in humanities, primarily through communication with representatives of other countries and cultures. It is a great way to learn something new," said Ilya Obabkov. 2️⃣Transport accessibility of the new campus. The model of necessary traffic flows will be discussed with the city administration. 3️⃣Physics as a core subject for IT specialists. The rector mentioned that introducing physics in the curriculum of future IT specialists is essential to understand how the world works. 4️⃣International cooperation. The rector paid special attention to the initiative to make Chinese the first foreign language in multiple programs. "The business turn towards the East is noticeable. By learning Chinese, you will begin to understand the culture, which differs from ours. Cross-cultural communication is a great means for personal growth. At the same time, there are a number of fields where cooperation between Russia and China is critically important," the rector is convinced. 🇨🇳For now, it is possible to start learning it at the Confucius Institute of UrFU or at the Foreign Languages Club. 5️⃣Inclusive sports education. The rector supported an initiative to introduce sports disciplines for students with disabilities. 6️⃣Educational reform.
