On the 9th week the market in the Azov–Black Sea region is returning to a downward trend in freight rates. Contracts for the shipment of 3,000 tons of wheat from Azov to the Marmara Sea ports are being concluded at the level of USD 48–49 per ton. Improved weather conditions in the Azov Sea have contributed to an increase in the availability of open tonnage for March dates. Demand for Russian grain remains stable, though without any pronounced surge in activity. In addition to wheat, there is growing interest in peas and chickpeas, particularly from countries in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Export fees have remained at zero for the seventh consecutive week, continuing to support trading activity.
In the Baltic region, difficult ice conditions persist in the Gulf of Finland and the Gulf of Riga. As a result, some charterers are reallocating shipments to ports with more favorable navigation conditions or postponing cargoes to the second half of March-April dates. Despite this, freight rates in the region remain at consistently high levels. For freight rates please visit our website https://sealines.su/en/market-news/
