📸 “Sketches of Forgotten Moscow” — Museum of Moscow
The Museum of Moscow is hosting a unique photography exhibition dedicated to the everyday life of the city at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition features over 160 modern prints from the museum’s collection, many of which capture streets, squares, markets, and residents of old Moscow. Visitors can see how the city looked more than a hundred years ago: busy streets, the first trams, architecture of the turn of the century, and scenes from daily urban life — from street vendors and craftsmen to festive processions and ordinary moments. Many of the photographs are shown to the public for the first time. Some images are accompanied by quotations from the works of the Moscow writer and journalist Vladimir Gilyarovsky. 📍 The exhibition takes place at the Museum of Moscow (Zubovsky Boulevard, 2) and will be open until March 15, 2026.
This exhibition is a rare opportunity to see a living, forgotten image of Moscow’s past and to feel the atmosphere of the city through the powerful and silent language of photography.
