Al-Fuḍayl ibn 'Iyāḍ used to say: «O Allah, I am unable to rectify my child, so rectify him for me» He continued supplicating Allah with this until his child became righteous. And among the supplications of the Salaf was: «O Allah, You have rectified the righteous, so rectify us so that we may become righteous» At-Tawbah by Ibn Abī ad-Dunyā [75]
