A little late post, but yesterday was St. Patrick's Day – and it's so much more than just wearing green! 🍀💚 For those who missed it, the Irish were celebrating the life of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. He wasn't even Irish originally – he was born in Britain around 385 AD! As a teenager, he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and spent six years in captivity as a shepherd. During that time, he turned to his faith. After escaping and returning home, he had a vision telling him to return to Ireland as a missionary. He spent 30 years traveling across the island, spreading Christianity and building churches. Legend has it he used the shamrock (our favorite three-leaf symbol) to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Celts. And yes, the famous story says he drove all the snakes out of Ireland – though scholars believe that's a metaphor for driving out paganism! What started as a religious feast day in the 17th century has grown into a global celebration of Irish culture, music, and craic (fun!). So whether you were raising a glass of Guinness, listening to traditional folk music, or just enjoying the vibrant parades – you were taking part in a tradition that's over 1,600 years old. Hope everyone had a fantastic one! Sláinte (good health) to you and yours! 🍻✨ #StPatricksDay #IrishHistory #SaintPatrick #Shamrock #Slainte #Ireland #Culture #HistoryFacts #StPaddysDay #AroundTheWorld
