Lk 6. 17-23 Disciples of Jesus Christ “He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there…” In this text we see that Christ is surrounded by his disciples. This is a very significant and interesting emphasis. The Gospel emphasizes that Christ had disciples. How unusual it is sometimes in a Christian environment to hear this word and dwell on it. A disciple is someone who listens to the word and works to change his life according to the instruction. Christianity is associated with teaching, personal teaching, not general (remember the Apostle Paul - "imitate me" - Paul was raised in the same tradition, where life was built according to the instruction of the teacher to the disciple). We need to put this emphasis on discipleship with Christ again, to become christians again, whose name is associated with Christ by life and service.
