QUESTION Is this sentence grammatically correct and meaningful? Is it something that a native English speaker would say, " I saw this shirt cheaper in anothet shop"? I’m sure I’ve said, “I saw it cheaper somewhere else,” more than once in my life when talking about some item, so someone might well say your sentence too. The sense is “I saw an identical shirt that was cheaper in another shop.” If you or the other person is thinking of buying the shirt, perhaps “I’ve seen it cheaper…” is more likely. That is, it’s currently available at a lower price in another store. We can use ‘get,’ ‘buy’ and ‘find’ the same way: “You can get/buy/find this shirt cheaper at Tom’s Haberdashery.” Note that North Americans tend to say ‘store’ for most retail businesses and Brits tend to say ‘shop.’ If North Americans refer to a retail business as a ‘shop,’ it’s usually quite a small one, like a neighbourhood bakery. #Richard_Lueger ⭕️Unknown English
