RAMADAN NIGHTLIFE In Saudi Arabia, the atmosphere of Ramadan does not end with iftar. On the contrary, after breaking the fast, life only begins to come alive and continues until dawn. After iftar, people go to the night prayer and tarawih. Once tarawih is finished, the cities fill with life: cafés, restaurants, and shops stay open, the streets become lively, and delivery services and supermarkets operate with a steady flow of customers. People are in no hurry. Some stroll along shopping streets, some meet friends in cafés, and others simply spend time with their families. This rhythm continues until the morning prayer. During Ramadan, the usual daily routine changes noticeably: working hours are reduced and evenings are free. Many people, especially young people, try to spend the daytime at home. Iftar is usually held with family, while meetings with friends often take place after tarawih, and people may return home only after the dawn prayer. That is why during Ramadan the cities of Saudi Arabia truly come alive at night.
