😨🔥That Heavy Feeling Before Something Important Have you ever had a big event coming up — starting a new job, moving to a new city, applying to university — and instead of feeling ready, you felt a strange desire to escape? You know you need to prepare, but every time you think about it, your chest feels heavy and your mind goes blank. This feeling has a name. Psychologists call it anticipatory anxiety combined with avoidance behaviour. It is your brain's way of trying to protect you from something it perceives as a threat. The problem is, the threat is not real danger — it is just an important life step. But your body reacts as if you were in danger: your heart beats faster, you feel tired just thinking about it, and you want to hide. Your mind is trying to shield you. What makes it strange is that you might have watched someone else go through something similar and felt completely calm. But now that it is your turn, everything feels different. The same tasks that looked easy before now feel overwhelming. You are not lazy, and you are not weak. You care so much that your mind is trying to protect you from the stress. We cannot predict what the future holds. None of us can know how things will turn out. Worrying about it endlessly will not change the outcome.
