Happy Holy Sunday ☦️ I have been in few new places in Saint-Petersburg and suberbs (Leningradskaya oblast) One of this place was Gatchina... Maria of Gatchina (1874-1932) /born Lydia Alexandrovna Lelyanova/ was a nun of the Russian Orthodox Church, an Orthodox saint venerated among the holy martyrs. Years of patiently enduring complete immobility gave Mother Maria of Gatchina the ability to console others. Even in her lifetime, she was known as "Holy Mother Maria." People from all over Russia flocked to her for help, unafraid of persecution by the Soviet authorities. “I remember,” writes Anna Alekseevna Epanchina, a sister from the circle with Mother Maria, “that there were many visiting bishops, priests, and deacons from St. Petersburg... it was very solemn, the huge monastery church was full of people.” 📝 Info about her #Saints
