Research Analyst (Market & Industry Research) About Millstone Partners
Millstone Partners is an independent M&A boutique focused on executing transactions and raising strategic and financial capital. The firm operates in partnership with New Venture Brokerage (NVB), a licensed investment company in Armenia. The partners combine expertise in private equity, corporate finance, and valuation to address complex business challenges. Millstone Partners is seeking a Research Analyst to join its Research Practice - an internal analytical function focused on global market analysis, proprietary investment insights, and long-term macro and industry trends. Role Overview
The Research Analyst will produce recurring macroeconomic and industry research that supports the firm’s market presence and long-term business development. The role includes 10–20% involvement in M&A and capital raising workstreams. Key Responsibilities
Research production (primary focus)
- Prepare recurring macroeconomic and industry reports using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Analyze industry structure, value chains, regulation, and competitive landscapes.
- Synthesize information into clear deliverables (reports, briefs, sector snapshots).
- Ensure accuracy, source discipline, and clarity. End-to-end research ownership
- Manage the full research process: scope definition, data collection, analysis, and final output.
- Maintain and improve research templates, datasets, and documentation. Primary & secondary research
- Review and synthesize third-party publications and datasets.
- Conduct interviews with market participants and maintain a research contact base. Research strategy & pipeline
- Contribute to research coverage priorities and production calendar.
- Propose relevant research topics and develop outreach pipelines. M&A / capital raising support (10–20%)
- Provide market insights for teasers, pitchbooks, and investor materials.
- Support comparable company/transaction screening and analytical tasks. Candidate Requirements
- 1-2+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Languages: English (advanced), Russian (professional), Armenian is a plus.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Strong analytical writing and structured thinking.
- Team collaboration and presentation skills.
- Proactivity, ownership, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to explain methodology and decision logic using real cases. Strong plus
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Executive-level PowerPoint skills.
