Making hearthcakes for the Solmōnaþ blót. For my historically inspired Anglo Saxon hearthcakes, per cup of spelt flour, I use half a cup of butter, honey to taste, and barley flakes on top. All good, whole ingredients, safe for whichever of the Gods’ creatures will inevitably eat them, should you leave your offering at an outdoor shrine. Was discussing with a Pagan brother…making traditional bread, learning the art, brings one closer to the Ancestors, and knowing you will not immediately enjoy the fruits of this labour, makes it a deeply devotional activity. 𐃏
