Overall, all the age groups have different preferences, with cartoons and sports programmes being the most popular type of content among those in the 10-15 year-old age bracket, drama shows attracting the largest audience among 16-20 year-olds, and news programmes leading the way in the 21-25 age group. Notably, the proportion of news viewers increases with age, whereas the opposite is true for sports viewership, and the pattern for the other genres is inconsistent. Regarding those aged between 10 and 15 years old, the leading types of TV programmes are sports programmes and cartoons, at 26% each. Drama ranks second, with 23%, followed by films, with their viewership accounting for 19%. In the meantime, news is the least popular type of programme, viewed by a meager 6% of 10-15 year-olds, approximately a quarter of the figure for sports and cartoons. Turning to the 16-20 age bracket, drama stands out as the most popular category, with the viewership of 30%. Films come second, with 23% of 16-20 year-olds opting for this type of content, followed by news, cartoons and sports programmes, at 18% and 15%, respectively. Sports programmes rank last, at 14%, which is almost half the figure for the same genre among the younger age cohort. As for the oldest age category, they show a preference for news programmes, with the viewership figure making up a substantial 33%, which was almost six times as high as the respective figure for 10-15 year-olds. Drama shows, cartoons and films followed, with none of the figures exceeding 22%. Meanwhile, the percentage of viewers from this age group watching sports programmes was the lowest across the board, at a negligible 4%, representing the largest discrepancy between the most and the least popular types of TV programmes.
