Agents, agents, agents. Today it almost feels like every person on the street owns a Mac mini with OpenClaw. Still, I like reading personal experiences about how these tools can become more than just expensive toys. Two months ago, I moved to Berlin. I've moved countries a few times before, but this time was much weirder. Every immigration is its own chaos, but one thing you can't escape: paperwork hell. It hurts. Especially when everything around you is new and you don't understand how anything works. Even worse when you barely speak the language (my bad, ich spreche Deutsch nicht so gut). You probably don’t need me to tell you to use ChatGPT or Google Translate. Instead, I wanted to talk about three of my more niche friends: Granola, Poke and Dia. My three go-to tools that save time, money, and make life much easier in general. The real hero is Granola. Usually known as a tool for recording yet another status meeting or sales call, it's incredibly useful when dealing with a foreign language. When I walk into a Bürgerbüro, I just start a Granola transcription on a phone and later it summarizes everything that happened and gives clear instructions and next steps. "Danke, Danke" and no misunderstandings. The killer feature is that you can now make calls directly from the Granola app, so any phone conversation can also be transcribed and clarified afterward. Another daily helper is Poke by The Interaction Company of California. It's an OpenClaw-like persistent agent with full access to my email, which is where most of my communication happens nowadays. It helps me summarize, translate, draft, and send emails to all authorities. The best part is that I can chat with Poke with voice messages in Telegram, which makes the whole thing much easier. Dia by The Browser Company is less of a daily thing, but just as useful. When I want to analyze a rental contract, figure out what documents I need for an appointment, or compare electricity tariffs — just ask. Maybe the world is losing its mind, but at least the paperwork is getting easier. What a time to be alive, folks!
