Apparently, I Seem Like a Bitch at First 😭 So here’s something I’ve been told more than once. At my friend’s birthday a while ago, some of her guests told her that I came across as cold. Distant. Even arrogant. 🧐 One of them basically implied I look like “that intimidating girl you don’t approach.” And the funny thing is, this is not the first time I’ve heard that. Over the past few years especially, people often assume I’m… well. A bit of a bitch. 🙈 What’s interesting is that it wasn’t always like that. Years ago, I gave off a completely different first impression. Warmer. Softer. More approachable. Somewhere along the way, something shifted. Now, apparently, I walk into a room and people think I’m reserved, slightly aloof, maybe even stuck-up. And then they get to know me. And almost every single time, I hear the same thing: “Oh wow, you’re actually really kind.” “You’re so open.” “You’re much softer than I expected.” It fascinates me how different first impressions can be from reality. 😳 How much we project onto people we barely know. And how quickly that perception changes once there’s an actual conversation. I’m not offended by it anymore. If anything, I find it interesting. Maybe it’s confidence. Maybe it’s emotional boundaries. Maybe it’s just my neutral face doing its thing. But now I’m curious. 🙂‍↔️ 💭 How do I come across to you?
