🔊DISY proposes law on bar and club operating hours: bars until 3:30 AM, clubs until 5:00 AM DISY MP Kyriakos Hadjiyiannis has submitted a bill to parliament regarding the operating hours of entertainment venues. The government previously withdrew a similar bill before a vote, and the MP has refiled the agreed-upon version as a private member’s initiative. According to the text, taverns and pubs will be able to operate until 3:30 AM year-round. For clubs and discos, a ministerial decision can set operating hours until 5:00 AM. Licenses will now be issued by municipalities and community councils, rather than the Ministry of Tourism. A special license is foreseen for unlicensed establishments already in operation. Venues in hotels will be exempt from licensing for leisure activities.
