However, after giving it a lot of thought, I’ve decided that I would probably prefer to live in Moscow after all. My question is: can I use the same set of documents to apply in Moscow? 📝 Our answer: Unfortunately, no. Key reasons why you cannot use the same set of documents in another region: 1. Application form The application form is the same in all regions, but the details entered on the form must correspond to the region where you are submitting your application. You will need to make changes to the application. 2. Medical certificates In each region, the Ministry of Internal Affairs establishes a list of medical organisations for undergoing the mandatory medical examination. Clinics that are recognised in one region are not recognised in another region of Russia. Therefore, you will need to obtain medical certificates again from an accredited clinic in Moscow. 3. State fee The state fee must be paid specifically at the Ministry of Internal Affairs office in the region where you are submitting your application. If you pay the fee in St Petersburg, this money will not be credited to the Moscow Ministry of Internal Affairs account. You will need to apply for a refund of the fee in St Petersburg and then pay the fee again in Moscow.
