🦀 The tropical paradise 🌴🥥 We set off for a vacation in the Maldives. The water in the ocean is absolutely stunning — every shade of blue and turquoise I can imagine. If you are also planning a trip with your child to the sea/ ocean, here are a couple of seashore activities: 🐚Sand darts 1. Draw a big dot. Then, draw 5 circles around it. 2. Take a stone from the seashore. 3. Try to throw the stone as close to the dot as possible. 🐚Tracking the tide 1. Put a marker, such as a stick, into the sand at the edge of the water. 2. Check back 30 minutes later. If the stick is covered by water, the tide is going up the beach, or coming “in”. If the stick is dry and away from the water, the tide is going “out”. 3. Put the marker at the water’s edge every 30 min. If the sea starts to go in the opposite direction, you’ve reached “low” or “high” tide. Low tide is the furthest the sea goes out. High tide is the furthest it goes in. 🐚Fill a bucket 1. Divide into teams, with a bucket for each. Each team puts their bucket on the beach. 2. Players take a cup, then line up next to their bucket. 3. One player shouts “go”. 4.The first player in each team runs to the sea, fills their cups with water, then races back to pour it into the bucket. 5. The next person in the team goes, and so on.
