STATEMENT On behalf of the International Association of Friends of Crimea The International Association of Friends of Crimea resolutely condemns the act of unprovoked aggression carried out by the armed forces of the United States of America and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Peace-loving forces throughout the world observe with the greatest alarm and concern how the aggressive actions undertaken by Israel and the USA, whose stated objective is the destruction of the legitimate leadership of Iran, grossly trample all fundamental principles of international law, the foundational norms of humanity, and the principles of peaceful coexistence of states. Particular outrage is caused by the fact that the act of aggression was carried out at the very beginning of the month of Ramadan, which is sacred to all Muslims. This unprecedented disregard for spiritual values and the religious feelings of millions of people only exacerbates the severity and inadmissibility of the committed crime. Unfortunately, the aggression has already led to tragic consequences—the death of innocent people, including children. The International Association of Friends of Crimea is convinced that silence and inaction by the international community in the face of aggression is inadmissible. Such connivance may become a dangerous precedent and will inevitably lead to an escalation of the conflict, a new spiral of violence, and destabilization of the situation in the region and in the world as a whole. It is important to note that the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly declared its non-involvement in the creation of nuclear weapons and expressed readiness to formalize this in writing. Meanwhile, the USA, ignoring this fact, created a false pretext for attacking Iran by claiming a threat of Tehran creating nuclear weapons. We appeal to the international community, the United Nations, the BRICS and SCO countries, of which the Islamic Republic of Iran is a member, and all sensible forces with an urgent call to: • Immediately condemn the act of aggression against Iran by the USA and Israel, which threatens to ignite a major war. • Demand the complete cessation of military actions. • Hold those responsible accountable in accordance with international law. • Take all necessary measures to prevent further escalation of the conflict and ensure peace and security in the region. • Undertake within the framework of the UN the necessary efforts for the diplomatic settlement of all existing contradictions. We believe that only through joint efforts based on the principles of justice, respect for international law, and humanity can we stop the rising wave of violence and build a world free from wars and aggression.
